I.E.2)a. National Sex Ed Conference: Kim Thalison, School Wellness & Prevention Services Director, is requesting Board approval for two prevention specialists to attend the National Sex Ed Conference in Atlantic City, New Jersey, from December 5-8, 2023. The conference will provide participants with the opportunity to learn about national trends and best practices for providing technical support to schools implementing sexual health education. Costs are covered by grant funds.

I.E.3) 2023-24 Packard Parking Lot Change Order #2: During the construction of the new parking lot at Packard, unforeseen instances occurred which required additional costs above the bid amount. Tina Monroe, Executive Director of Finance & Operations, is requesting that the Board approve Change Order #2 at an estimated cost of $35,015.40.

I.E.4) Center for Disease Control (CDC) Notice of Award: Kim Thalison, School Wellness & Prevention Services Director, is requesting that the Board authorize the Superintendent to accept a Notice of Award from the CDC in the amount of $360,000. This funding opportunity provides supports for adolescent sexual health education services, and Whole Child supports for school districts in the tri-county area from August 1, 2022, through July 31, 2024.

I.E.5) Mid-State Health Network (MSHN) Contract: Kim Thalison, School Wellness & Prevention Services Director, is requesting that the Board authorize the Superintendent to execute an agreement with MSHN in an amount not to exceed $640,750. The funds provide prevention supports to Clinton, Eaton, and Ingham Counties for programs, curriculum, community coalitions, evaluation, and training support. The agreement is from October 1, 2023, through September 30, 2024.

I.E.6) Children Trust Michigan (CTM) Primary Prevention Partners Program Contract Renewal: Kim Thalison, School Wellness & Prevention Services Director, is requesting that the Board authorize the Superintendent to execute an agreement with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services for the CTM program in an amount not to exceed $30,000. The funds provide child abuse and neglect prevention services. The agreement is from October 1, 2023, through September 30, 2024.

I.E.7) Michigan Primary Care Association (MPCA) Contract Renewal: Kim Thalison, School Wellness & Prevention Services Director, is requesting that the Board authorize the Superintendent to execute an agreement with MPCA in an amount not to exceed $105,000. The funds support implementation of the Michigan Model for Health curriculum in schools (pre-k through 12) throughout Clinton, Eaton, and Ingham Counties. The agreement is from October 1, 2023, through September 30, 2024.

I.E.8) Taking Pride in Pregnancy Prevention (TPIP) Lansing School District Subcontract: Kim Thalison, School Wellness & Prevention Services Director, is requesting that the Board authorize the Superintendent to execute a subcontract agreement with the Lansing School District for the TPIP program in an amount not to exceed $41,500. The subcontract provides coordination, staffing, and support for the curriculum delivered per grant outcomes. The agreement is from October 1, 2023, through September 30, 2024.

I.E.9) Michigan Department of Education (MDE) Center for Disease Control (CDC) Subcontract Renewal: Kim Thalison, School Wellness & Prevention Services Director, is requesting that the Board authorize the Superintendent to execute a subcontract agreement with the Michigan Department of Education for work supporting the CDC Department of Adolescent Sexual Health (DASH) grant in an amount not to exceed $40,000. The subcontract includes services to support the administration of the Youth Risk Behavior Survey to priority school districts as required by the CDC DASH 1807 grant. The agreement is from August 1, 2023, through July 31, 2024.

I.E.10) Michigan Public Health Institute (MPHI) Subcontract: Kim Thalison, School Wellness & Prevention Services Director, is requesting that the Board authorize the Superintendent to execute a subcontract agreement with MPHI in an amount not to exceed $26,073. The subcontract provides evaluation services supporting the CDC Department of Adolescent Sexual Health grant from August 1, 2023, through July 31, 2024.

I.E.11) Increase of 1.0 FTE Speech and Language Services: Kelly Hager, Assistant Superintendent for Special Education, is requesting that the Board approve an increase of 1.0 FTE speech and language pathology (SLP) services due to the increased need for these services in an amount not to exceed $85,285. The increase of 1.0 FTE is being requested by Grand Ledge Public Schools.

I.E.12) 2023-24 Contracted School Social Worker Services: Kelly Hager, Assistant Superintendent for Special Education, is requesting that the Board authorize the Superintendent to execute an agreement with PresenceLearning, Inc. to provide the current 1.0 FTE contracted virtual School Social Worker vacancy for the 2023-24 school year from November 3, 2023, through June 14, 2024, in an amount not to exceed $95,615.84.
