May 12, 2025 at 5:30 PM - Election Canvassing Special Meeting

Discussion:  President Robinson called the meeting to order at 5:30 pm and announced the presence of a quorum.

Discussion:  No individuals registered to speak during Open Forum.

Discussion:  Clint Duncan voiced the prayer and Sarah Robinson led the Pledge. 

Discussion:  President Sarah Robinson stated, at this time, under the authority granted to the District under the Texas Election Code, we will canvass the returns and declare the results of the May 3, 2025 Redwater ISD Board of Trustees election. b. Let the record reflect that the time is 5:31 p.m. and that the following members of the Redwater ISD Board of Trustees are present: Sarah Robinson, Jerry McCarty, Clint Duncan, Brad Rosiek.

President Sarah Robinson stated, and thus, a quorum exists for purposes of conducting the canvass of election returns.

Secretary Brad Rosiek presented the election returns. 

Secretary Brad Rosiek stated, under the requirements of the Texas Election Code, the RISD Board of Trustees will now receive the election returns provided to the District by the Bowie County Elections Administrator’s Office. These returns contain the results of RISD’s May 3, 2025, Trustee Election conducted by the Bowie County Elections Administrator for the District. We have been provided the Final Canvass Results and a summary report by the County.

Secretary Brad Rosiek stated the results of the election are as follows:

• Place 1: 487 votes for Clint Duncan running unopposed
• Place 2: 488 votes for Sarah Robinson running unopposed
• Place 3: 479 votes for Brad Rosiek running unopposed
• Place 4: 273 votes for Robert Bryan and 244 votes for Sara Rosiek Henson

Secretary Brad Rosiek stated, before us is a proposed canvassing order that incorporates these results and constitutes the official tabulation of the total votes received for and against each candidate. The members of the RISD Board of Trustees present may move adoption of the proposed canvassing order and thus complete the canvass of the election.

Discussion:  President Sarah Robinson stated under the requirements of the Texas Election Code, the Board has received the election returns and canvass results provided to the District by the Bowie County Elections Department, which contain the results of the District’s May 3, 2025, Bond Elections. Before us is a proposed canvassing orders declaring results of the bond election that incorporates these results and constitutes the official tabulation of the total votes received for the bond measures. The members of the Board present may move adoption of the proposed canvassing orders and thus complete the canvass of the election.
