Ms. Fouche presented preliminary EOC scores, comparing RISD to the Region and the State. RISD was ahead of the Region and State in 20 out of 24 areas. These areas include the criteria of Approached, Meets, and Masters. Grades 3-8 STAAR scores not yet received for the region and state will be presented at the July meeting.

HB 2 directs $8.5 billion in a variety of ways to public schools with specific language for pay increases subdivided to address teacher compensation and compensation for other staff who are not administrators. TEA's new minimum salary schedule was published last week. Awaiting full interpretation and guidance from TEA for implementation.

Discussion:
Principals met as a group to update the 2025-26 Student Handbook. Changes to the Handbook will be confirmed after TASB releases the Model Student Handbook later this summer. Grading will be standardized to a 50/50 split for RIS, RJH, and RHS. A 60/40 split will remain only for RHS Advanced courses through the Class of 2028 and for 2025-26 freshmen in Algebra I Honors only. This ensures fairness in class rank and GPA during the transition.
