VII. Kindergarten Entry Profile (KEP) - Approved Assessments Information Overview
Presenter:
C Johnso
Description:
The U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) requires Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) programs to report Child Outcome Summary (COS) Ratings on behalf of infants, toddlers, and preschool children with disabilities.
The documents below specifies how each KEP-approved assessment’s items align (or do not align) to: (1) an Early Childhood Indicator of Progress domain of learning; and, (2) COS Ratings 1-3. ECSE programs may find these documents valuable resources when implementing and administering these assessments in order to submit item level assessment data to the Early Childhood Education Outcomes system (ECE Outcomes Portal) to obtain MDE calculated COS Ratings.
The MDE is sponsoring a series of one-hour informational webinars hosted by the assessment publishers. This is a great opportunity to learn more about what a developmentally appropriate, whole-child, standards-based assessment looks like and feels like.
