This is a meeting of the district's safety and security committee, not the Board of Trustees.   In 2019, the Texas legislature passed Senate Bill 11 which amended Texas Education Code section 37.109.  The law now states that "The [safety and security] committee is subject to Chapter 551, Government Code [the Texas Open Meetings Act], and may meet in executive session as provided by that chapter. Notice of a committee meeting must be posted in the same manner as notice of a meeting of the district’s board of trustees." The Board of Trustees is not required to attend this meeting; however the Board President and one other member of the Board are required to be members of the Committee
