1. Call the Meeting to Order
Discussion:
President Stearns called the meeting to order at 4:00 P.M. Roll call was taken.

5. Review 23-24 Board Goals
Discussion:
The Board reviewed over the goals.
1. To provide learning opportunities that prepare and empower students through equitable and challenging curriculum and instruction. 2. Foster a positive and effective working relationship with external stakeholders. 3. To commit and invest in the development and growth of staff to best serve students. |

6. District Snapshot
Discussion:
The board looked over the district snapshot for the school year 2022-2023. Attendance rate: 94%, Student Membership: 184, Teachers: 20, Free/Reduced Lunch: 48%, and Special Education: 22%.

7. Review AQUESST Data
Discussion:
The Brady Public School district is classified as" Good". Brady Middle School got a classification as "Excellent". The Nebraska Department of Education are looking at the following areas to classify Nebraska school districts: Transitions, Educational Opportunities and Access, Student Achievement and Growth.

8. Review ESU 16 Expenses
Discussion:
The board reviewed last years expenditures for contracted services with ESU 16 and anticipated costs for 2024-2025.

9. Staffing Needs
Discussion:
Mrs. Foster talked about the needs of the district. It was mentioned to add another Special Education teacher to help with the load. The salary could be reimbursed through Sped funding, which would be an added bonus. Another area that was mentioned was adding a full-time social worker. Currently, a social worker only comes twice a week, but the need is definitely there to be a full-time position. Becky Simants will also be reassigned to student coordinator.

10. Legislative Updates
Discussion:
There are a lot of education bills that the board is currently monitoring.

11. Discuss Teammates
Discussion:
The board recognizes that this is a wonderful program that may be beneficial to Brady Public Schools in the future. With the current start-ups of a FFA and preschool, it was discussed that it would be best not to add any other programs at this time.

12. Discuss Superintendent Contract
Discussion:
The board discussed increasing the superintendent's contract by about 6.5% starting July 1st, 2024.
