7.5. Principal's Report
Discussion:
Mr. Larson gave his report. Restorative Practices Professional Development training was on December 5th over zoom. The focus: Theories Behind the Work - Foundational Restorative Practices. Time was spent reviewing, reflecting, learning, and collaborating on the following Restorative Practice components; Implementation Science, Systems Considerations, Expectations of Facilitators, Where Does it Fit (time in schedule), and establishing a sustainable plan. The Food Drive is going on from December 9th to December 20th. The theme is the Grinch and the goal is 150 pounds. If 150 pounds of food is received, then there will be a 1:00 dismissal on Friday December 20th. With two quarters of implementation of PBIS, Mr. Larson truly feels the staff have now defined support for behavioral expectations. Our students have a better appreciation for following well-defined behavioral practices and know what is expected of them at all times and places within our school. Our incidents have decreased, and our incidents submitted have led to the decisions we make day to day on behavior. With all the things above, we are able to have positive school-wide social and academic success.

8.3. 2024 AQuESTT Report
Discussion:
Mrs. Foster gave the AQuESTT report. The NEP data is designed to rate schools across the state. On the surface all schools and districts will receive one of four classification ratings. This is such an exciting report to share because there was such an increase in our ratings. The district is above the state average in our ELA and Math ratings.

||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8.4. Chromebook Purchase Agreement
Discussion:
This would place our chromebooks on a 3 year purchase cycle. Right now, students are getting new chromebooks as 7th graders and unfortunately, by 10th or 11th grade year they are needing replaced.
We are proposing that students would get new chrombooks as 9th graders and as 12th graders. The chromebooks that the seniors have would then be recycled and given to the 7th graders for their 7th and 8th grade year. They would then get a new chromebook in 9th grade to be used for 9th, 10th, and 11th grade year. A quote of $11,000 would pay for 40 Chromebooks to start the new process. The amount would be paid with REAP grant funds. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8.5. New Gym Painting
Discussion:
The new gym is in need of being painted. SETH DENNEY PAINTING proposes pre-catalyzed water based semi gloss epoxy for the material used and the School administration would choose the color applied.
The scope would be to prep off all non-painted areas (bleachers, floor, hoops), paint two coats on all white, and red striping on walls, and paint two coats on black door frames. The total cost would be $28,750 which is labor and materials. SETH DENNEY PAINTING is licensed and insured and has painted gymnasiums throughout central and western Nebraska. |

8.6. Purchase of Micro Bird 14 passenger Bus
Discussion:
Recent legislative changes have emphasized the need to phase out 12 passenger vans in schools and favoring short buses, minivans or SUVs instead. We currently use our van for the Gothenburg route and it is full. At State Education Conference, the facilities committee visited multiple bus vendors and decided that the MicroBird is the best fit for our needs. A quote was attached for the board to view. The total price would be $100,696.00. Delivery is expected to be in May or June.
