8.e. Snow Days/School Dismissal
Rationale:
The final day of school for students and staff will be determined by the Board of Education at the April 2023 meeting.
Student Hours Under Nebraska's compulsory education statute, a school term (year) must be no less than 1,032 instructional hours for elementary school and 1,080 instructional hours for high school. Kindergarten's school term must be at least 400 clock hours. Teacher Contract Days Teachers have completed 179 of their 184 contracted days due to snow day cancelations. The April board meeting is designated to determine the number of make-up days for students and teachers. Currently, our student hours have been met. Thus, the last student day for students is scheduled for May 17th @ 11:30 a.m. No School 12/13/22 12/14/22 1/3/23 -No School for Students, Teacher Work Day, Snowed Out. 1/18/23 1/19/23 184 Teacher Contract Days 179 Days Completed Currently, the last day for teachers is May 26th.
