1. Call To Order
This meeting is a meeting of the Board of Education in public for the purpose of conducting the School District's business and is not to be considered a public community meeting. There is a time for public participation during the meeting as indicated on the agenda. |

3. Citizens' Comments
This portion of the agenda is for citizens to address any questions or comments to the Board. The Board will listen, take comments and questions under advisement, and not respond at this time. The presiding officer will refer questions to the superintendent for research and response. When called on by the Board President, the citizen may address the Board for up to three (3) minutes during the citizen comment period. Citizen comment timeframe is limited to 30 minutes. |

7. Adoption of the Consent Agenda
Items on the Consent Agenda are to be voted on as a single item by the Board. Board members may remove items from the Consent Agenda prior to the vote. Discussion of the items that have been removed will be added to the Action/Discussion Items listed on the agenda. A motion is needed to approve the items on the Consent Agenda. A roll call vote is required.

7.B. Board Policy Updates - Second Reading
Description:
Administration is recommending updates to board policies #8305-Information Security, and #8531-Free and Reduced Price Meals. Copies of the board policies were provided in the 10/2/23 Board packets. This will be the second reading of the policies. This motion will put the policies into effect. Dr. Applegate will answer questions.

Description:
Administration is recommending that the board approve the overnight field trip request submitted by Cheryl Rogers/Carrie George, Agriscience Teacher/ FFA Advisor, to allow 10 FFA Students to attend the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, IN., November 1-3, 2023.

Description:
Administration is recommending that the board approve the overnight field trip request submitted by Matt Brawley to allow one, girl's team golfer, to compete in the MHSAA Girls Golf State competition in Allendale, MI October 19-21, 2023. Michelle Asmus will answer questions.

8.A. Board Policy Update - First Reading
Description:
Administration is recommending updates to board policy #2370.01-On-line/Blended Learning Program and #7217-Weapons. Copies of board policies were provided in board packets. This will be the first reading of the policies. Policies will go into effect upon approval of the second reading. Dr. Applegate will answer questions.

8.B. New Course Proposal
Description:
Administration is recommending that the board approve the new course entitled: Professional Health Career Academy 2 (PHCA2) for High School grade12. This course is a school to career placement that is CTE based. Course has an Allied Health prerequisite. Each student will have already completed PHCA, Brooke Brawley will answer questions.

Description:
Administration is recommending that the Niles high school student involved in Administrative Hearing #24-0217 be expelled for the remainder of the 2023-24 school year with the option to enroll in the WAY program without lab privileges. Student will be able apply for reinstatement for the 24-25 school year no later than August 1, 2024.
Jessica Johnson and Adam Burtsfield will answer any questions.
