   A. Public Comments for 2026 - 2027 ESSA grant funds
Description:
ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act) grant funds are federal K-12 education funds distributed to states and local school districts.
  • Title I, Part A: Provides supplemental resources to schools with high numbers or percentages of children from low-income families to ensure they meet state academic standards.
  • Title II, Part A: Focuses on preparing, training, and recruiting high-quality teachers and principals, often used for ongoing professional development.
  • Title III, Part A: Dedicated to helping English learners and immigrant students attain English proficiency and meet academic achievement standards. 
  • Title IV, Part A (Student Support and Academic Enrichment): A flexible block grant focusing on three main areas: providing a well-rounded education, improving safe and healthy school environments, and expanding the use of education technology.
