V.B. Recommend Approval of Title IX Policy Changes
|

Description:
Superintendent Walbruch will review the policy changes for Title IX. Per MSBA: The 2020 policy differs in terms of the complaint/grievance procedure requirements. In essence, schools around the country must use the 2020 Final Rule procedures, not the 2024 procedures. In addition, the 2020 version differed in that gender identity is not protected as it was in the 2024 version. With that said, Minnesota law protects gender identity, so there is not a significant difference in this sense between the 2020 and 2024 policies.
