5.A. Discuss, consider and take all necessary action to approve the transfer of $50,000 from the General Fund into the Depreciation Fund for future transportation purchases.

5.B. Discuss, consider and take all necessary action to approve the transfer of $50,000 from the General Fund into the Depreciation Fund for future technology purchases.

5.C. Discuss, consider and take all necessary action to approve the transfer of $60,000 from the General Fund into the building line of Depreciation Fund.

6.A. Tobin Buchanan will lead a financial discussion for possible district building projects.
Discussion:
Tobin Buchanan from First National Capital Markets presented an educational presentation to the Board about how school districts approach paying for facility needs that can present themselves to districts. Since the Board of Education is looking at the facility needs of the district, this information was needed to help the Board continue to be fiscally responsible when entering the 2023-2024 budget cycle.

6.B. Superintendent Patterson will lead a discussion on the proposed 2023-2024 financial budget.
Discussion:
Superintendent Patterson led a discussion by the Board of Education about the 2023-2024 budget season. Superintendent Patterson presented historical information as well as budget forecasts for future academic years of the district. The Board and Superintendent Patterson discussed a proposed budget that would lower the General Fund tax request, maintain the tax request in the Special Building Fund to continue to make payments on the current lease purchase agreement, and the addition of possibly taxing in the QCPUF to plan for future life safety projects for the Hildreth and Wilcox facilities.
Superintendent Patterson discussed the action items and the planned transfers of the appropriate funds listed in each of those action items. The Board of Education plans to continue to budget for such transfers on an annual basis in effort to plan for future needs of the district. |
