Senate Bill 13 requires the review and board approval of library materials procurement list prior to purchasing library materials. The proposed procurement list was posted in the Donna ISD website for 30 days for public viewing and comment prior to board approval as per Senate Bill 13 requirements. V.B.c. Approval of Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Donna ISD and The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) for the Early Birds Dual Credit Program at Donna North High School.

Donna North High School, as a designated dual language campus, seeks to expand its advanced academic pathways and increase equitable access to university-aligned dual credit opportunities. This MOU establishes a five-year partnership with UTSA to offer rigorous college-level courses taught by UTSA faculty, with substantial tuition and fee waivers through the UTSA Early Birds Dual Credit Program. The agreement strengthens alignment with the District Improvement Plan (DIP), Lone Star Governance Goal 3 College, Career & Military Readiness (CCMR) outcomes.

V.B.d. Approval of Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) Between Donna ISD and the Texas Trees Foundation for the Schoolyard Forests / Cool Schools Rio Grande Valley Program

Description:
Donna ISD has been selected to participate in the Texas A&M Forest Service Community Forestry Grant implemented through the Texas Trees Foundation’s Cool Schools RGV - Schoolyard Forests Program. Eight campuses will receive comprehensive greening projects, including forested outdoor learning spaces, increased canopy coverage, nature-based play areas, and environmental literacy programming. This MOA outlines a multiphase partnership in which TTF and Donna ISD jointly design, install, activate, and maintain these improved learning environments. The program enhances instructional opportunities, mitigates extreme heat, strengthens school-community engagement, and supports district priorities in whole-child development, health, and environmental education. |
