IV.A.l. Approval to purchase the Apptegy software platform.
Presenter:
Rebecca Castañeda
Description:
Apptegy is a software platform that helps schools and school districts create and manage their digital communication. It simplifies how schools share news, updates, schedules, and important information in a user-friendly, engaging way. It enables everyone, from teachers to students, parents, and administrators, to communicate effectively just using one app and not many different communication apps. Apptegy will build a Donna ISD-branded mobile app for the district. Within the Donna ISD mobile app, there will be a public-facing side that allows us to continue reaching non-Donna ISD families, such as Grandparents, aunts/uncles, and other community members. It will also enable safe and secure classroom communications between teachers and parents, as well as teachers and students, all in one single space branded for Donna ISD. This will allow parents to remove a majority of the mobile apps on their phone that are branded for some third-party vendor and bring everyone back to the Donna ISD brand. In addition to making this a very user-friendly platform for parents, administrators will also have the ability to update the mobile app, website, social media, and send out emergency texts/calls/emails from one single platform. McAllen ISD, Brownsville ISD, La Joya ISD and over 300 districts in Texas are partnering with Apptegy for their online presence and communication.
