Consider action to hire Angie Best as elementary teacher for the remainder of the 2024-25 and the 2025-26 school year
Description:
Ms. Best is being recommended for the position of elementary physical education teacher. Ms. Best is currently fulfilling the elementary physical education teacher as a permanent substitute. Ms. Best holds a Bachelor of Science in Exercise & Sports Studies with a minor in Human Services from Tarlenton State University. Ms. Best is enrolled in the alternative certification program through Texas Teachers for Tomorrow.

Consider action to hire Carolee Hardin as an elementary teacher for the 2025-26 school year.
Description:
Ms. Hardin is being recommended for hire for a first grade position. Ms. Hardin comes with 31 years of experience as an elementary teacher and interventionist. Ms. Hardin most current position is Reading Specialist: Interventionist/Instructional Coaching/Curriculum in Sweetwater ISD.

Consider action to hire Monica Rodgers as a secondary teacher for the 2025-26 school year
Description:
Ms. Rodgers is being recommended for hire as an ELA Teacher at the secondary campus. Ms. Rodgers holds a Master's in Curriculum and Instruction from Grand Canyon University. Ms. Rodgers comes with 16 years of teaching experience plus 1 year as a teacher paraprofessional. Ms. Rodgers current assignment is an English 2 teacher at Sweetwater High School.

Consider action to create new position as District Librarian/Research Specialist for the 2025-26 school year
Description:
This position is being created for a district librarian and research specialist. The position will bring unity to district libraries. In addition, it will work collaboratively with libraries with our collegiate partners to bring more technological and research use for our students.
This position will also assist with reading and writing. As a librarian, a part of the duties is the research component for students. RCISD has Standard Research Projects for grades 3 - 12. The librarian will assist students in research for the projects and the writing of the projects. |
