Motion, Supervisor Gene Trouba, seconded Supervisor Bob Lloyd, to approve the following newspapers be designated as the official papers for the purpose of publishing notices and minutes of all meetings of the Platte County Board of Supervisors for the year 2025, the rate is not to exceed the legal rate for the publication and have the County Clerk notify the Department of Roads of such designation. Columbus Telegram - 60% Murphys Law/Humphrey Democrat - 40% County Website - www.plattecounty.ne.gov.

Motion, Supervisor Joe Ott, seconded Supervisor Jerry Micek, to approve that the respective office and department heads be authorized to purchase items needed in their office on the open market for the fiscal year July 1, 2025 to June 30, 2026, but not to exceed $3,500.00 per item provided they have the funds and it is identified in their budget. All items are to be purchased in Platte County if the prices are comparable. The purchasing guidelines must be followed as per state statute.

Motion, Supervisor Jerry Micek, seconded Supervisor John Harms, To set the date for Regular Meetings of the County Board for 2025 as presented, as well as set the 2025 Protest Hearings for July 14th - 17th, as needed.

Motion, Supervisor Jerry Micek, seconded Supervisor Ron Reilly, to approve that the County pays for meals (no meal reimbursements will be allowed unless an overnight stay) to include for tips up to 20% with proper documentation. The County will follow current General Services Administration (GSA) guidelines for reimbursements per the Platte County Handbook, mileage at $0.70 cents per mile per state, the County Sheriff can charge $0.73 cents on civil processing, pre-registration, lodging, or fare excluding spouses, while attending conventions, meetings, and district meetings relative to the business of the County, to elected county officials, department heads, and expenses of their personnel shall be paid if such personnel have been requested to attend meetings if elected officials or department heads do not attend, he or she may designate their deputy to attend, their expenses will be allowed, the county representative must register and should attend all the meetings of the convention or their expenses may not be allowed. And following the travel expense as defined in the Platte County employee handbook. All claims are required to be accompanied by receipts and/or canceled checks. All elected and appointed officials and department heads or their designee must attend the meetings being requested for registration and expense payment, otherwise they will reimburse the County prepaid costs. The County Board may reject any or all claims. Claims for personal reimbursement less than $5.00 will not be approved unless leaving county employment.
