Discussion:         Approved revision to School Nurse (RN) Job Description.

Discussion:  Executive Director of Operational Support Services Bud Gusso stated that from our Roofing Bid Acceptance back in April, as well as within the Capital Outlay approval, we are working diligently not only to prepare for new construction but also to keep our current facilities in good repair.  We were fortunate that bids for the HS/FC/ and CO roof replacement projects came in significantly under the budget we were initially projecting.

Given our responsibility to maintain facilities, potential availability of funds and recognizing that Badger Clark is also in need of roof replacement, we are actively looking into the possibility of including BC within the summer 2024 repair and replacement plan already scheduled. The Badger Clark roof is 10 years out of warranty and needs repair so considering the options for replacing it.  We are considering the implications of budget, bid process, timing, and contractor availability and will keep the board informed.

Discussion:  Superintendent Kevin Case gave an update to the track and field project by Mammoth Construction.  A groundbreaking at the track is being planned at 4:30 pm before the next board meeting on May 28. 

The End of Year Celebration and Breakfast is scheduled for Thursday, May 23 at 7:30 in the high school gym. 

Discussion:  Committee Reports from Board Members and Comments from Associate Board Members

Ben Frerichs reported on the first District Wellness Committee meeting facilitated by Dr. Andy Koenigs from IMACorp. A whole health program covering the eight dimensions of wellness was discussed. The next committee meeting will be early in June to start planning for the Douglas staff and community.

Tonya Welch stated the Booster Club awarded 6 scholarships this year. The next meeting will be in July to plan for the 2024-25 SY.  She also attended the Curriculum Coordinating Council meeting today. Next year may bring some changes with discipline and curriculum.
