The Inclement Weather ThoughtExchange requesting input from our school community closed on Sunday. Superintendent Case is in the process of creating themes from the exchange and looking for common ground. A more detailed analysis of the information will be forthcoming soon along with a recommendation as to how to make up any future snow days.

Superintendent Kevin Case shared an overview of the hiring process for the high school principal position with the anticipated timeline. A recent ThoughtExchange with the high school staff highlighted qualities/characteristics staff would like the next high school principal to possess.

Fran Apland shared that the Anchored4Life program started last week at the middle school. She is looking forward to seeing the student leadership develop under the program. Planning is underway for the month of the Military Child--Purple Up Day for South Dakota will be April 21. If anyone wants to help, let Fran know. Amy McGovern did not have any committee reports but attended several student events and is just amazed at how well our students represent Douglas. Cabaret tickets for March 10 & 11 are on sale now. Tonya Amaral attended the Curriculum Coordinating Committee meeting. Testing results and input from the 10-point grading scale Thought Exchange were reviewed. Each year there is improvement in the testing scores. The next Booster Club meeting is February 21. Cathy Melendez will be attending the Box Elder Area Chamber of Commerce meeting on Wednesday. Tanya Gray added that Douglas elementary students are attending the Rush game on Wednesday. Vandenberg fourth-graders will be singing the National Anthem. |
