BE IT RESOLVED that the Douglas School District Board of Education hereby delegates to the South Dakota High School Activities Association the supervision, control, and regulation of any and all high school interscholastic activities being delegated to said Association during the 2022-23 school term; and further ratifies the constitution, bylaws, and rules as of July 1, 2022 and agrees to abide by the same. |

11.A. CRC Back-to-School Plan Update.
Discussion:
Executive Director of Operational Support Services Bud Gusso reviewed the proposed changes to the Back-to-School Plan for 2022-23. The Covid-19 Recovery Committee (CRC) met recently to review the plan. The committee is recommending changes in the contact tracing process, increasing the thresholds for the various phases, requiring board action for school closure, and some other language changes. The revised plan will be presented to the Board for approval on May 23 and then submitted to the State by June 6.

Strategic Direction / Adaptive Schools EOY Staff Celebration

Reports:
Superintendent Kevin Case noted that the district will be working with Brian Riggs on strategic direction which also aligns with Adaptive Schools. Many staff will be taking the Adaptive School Training this summer. At the beginning of the year, staff will be working on values and beliefs at the building level which will then expand to the district level. He also announced the End of Year Staff Celebration is scheduled for Thursday, May 26. Asking that all staff attend as it will be a time to recognize some staff, reflect and set the stage for next year. It will look somewhat different from previous years. |

Chris Misselt noted that Ed Council will meet tomorrow afternoon for the last meeting of this school year. Tanya Gray met last week for the Black Hills Special Services Cooperative Board of Directors. She referenced its monthly newsletter which is emailed to all board members. The TIE Conference is scheduled for West River next spring. Amy McGovern reported on items from the Booster Club: voted on new officers at end-of-year meeting last week; fundraiser this Friday at track meet; organizational meeting will be July 25; scheduled community event on August 2 for membership drive; and first meeting on August 15. Col Vairi reminded everyone of the air show this weekend. The F22 team and the Blue Angels will be here--"some of our best leaders were inspired by an air show performance when they were kids". Cathy Melendez stated she will be out of town so will zoom at the next meeting. She regrets missing the activities scheduled for the last week of school. |
