August 13, 2018 at 7:00 PM - REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING OF THE BOARD OF EDUCATION

A motion was made by Jerry Kovarik and seconded by Janna Tripe to approve consent agenda. After discussion and on roll call vote the Board voted as follows: Passed.

A motion was made by Brett Hammond and seconded by Lori Tripe to approve the receipts, expenditures, and payment of claims from the General Fund for $419,105.89 and from Activity Fund for $10,453.00. After discussion and on roll call vote the Board voted as follows: Passed.

A motion was made by Lori Tripe and seconded by Scott Prickett to approve random drug testing policy #5306, as provided by Perry Law Firm, on its second reading. After discussion and on roll call vote the Board voted as follows: Passed.

A motion was made by Jerry Kovarik and seconded by Lori Tripe to approve Board Policy #3131 - Procurement Policy (food service program). After discussion and on roll call vote the Board voted as follows: Passed.

A motion was made by Lori Tripe and seconded by Jerry Kovarik to accept/approve the Nebraska DEQ School Bus Rebate Program (would pay 50% of purchase price, not to exceed $42,000 for new diesel bus) and to purchase a 2020 Blue Bird Vision 53 passenger bus, pending delivery of the funds to the school (must trade in a 2009 or older bus). After discussion and on roll call vote the Board voted as follows: Passed.

A motion was made by Lori Tripe and seconded by Janna Tripe to approve paying invoices that should be included in the 2017-2018 school year but were received after the books were closed for the month. After discussion and on roll call vote the Board voted as follows: Passed.

A motion was made by Scott Prickett and seconded by Jerry Kovarik to approve Policy #5290, allowing a student in good standing and who meets all other requirements, to be allowed work release for the last period of the day. After discussion and on roll call vote the Board voted as follows: Passed.

A motion was made by Jerry Kovarik and seconded by Janna Tripe to clean up Activity Fund balances by transferring funds from General Fund. After discussion and on roll call vote the Board voted as follows: Passed.
