City Administrator's report:
Discussion:
Monthly Sales Tax was approximately $21,000. Employees have been completing training videos; utility staff have been educated about trips, slips, and falls while the office staff has been learning about customer service and dealing with difficult customers. There has been only one application for the utility superintendent position even though we've advertised regionally in newspapers. Indeed.com has been suggested for use by other municipalities; however, at this time, we don't know if there is a cost or if the council would like us to advertise this way. Mogus is looking for some direction as he wants to keep advertising for the position. He mentioned that Pender is also looking for a utility superintendent, but their starting wage is $73K while Wakefield's is $65K. After some discussion, the Council suggested continuing with print advertising as well as advertising in all professional magazines and websites including Indeed.com and online with the Norfolk and Sioux City newspapers. The annual Employee Appreciation Meal will be next Thursday, January 16 at noon at the Civic Center. Sneaky's will be provided and all council members and the mayor are invited.
