President F. Kramer called the regular meeting of the Stapleton Public Schools Board of Education to order at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, August 12, 2024, in the library at Stapleton Public Schools.

Discussion:
Notice of the meeting was published in the Stapleton Enterprise on Thursday, August 8, 2024, and posted at five local businesses along with notice to the president of the board and all members prior to the meeting date.

Public Comment and Recognition of Visitors
Discussion:
President F. Kramer asked if there was any public comment and referred to the guidelines in the agenda.
Duane McClain thanked the board for all they do and voiced appreciation for improvements to the weight room and Mr. Deines and Mr. Johnson for dedication to the summer weight program. He expressed thoughts on upcoming budget. Jenni Joedeman, PreK-12 Guidance Counselor, presented to the Board an activity on organization dealing with chaos. Her job includes scheduling classes, registering students, coordinating dual credit college classes for upper students, providing elementary SEL lessons, mental health coordinator, senior class sponsor, National Honor Society Sponsor, advocate for students, defender of academia, and building relationships with students and staff. |

Activities Director Report
Discussion:
The Activities Director's report given by Jeremiah Johnson included the following: first day of fall practices was today, junior high practice begins Aug. 19, expected participation numbers, forfeited play production for this year, Mrs. Burnside agreed to sponsor speech, proposed co-oping play production with McPherson Co. but they were not interested, open scrimmage practice/parent meeting for fall sports is Aug. 23, coaches/players/coop board meetings, fundraisers during fair a success, kudos to Coach Hynes, Coach Myers, Coach McVay and Coach Connell for work over fair weekend, athletic handbook, Coach Deines will continue 7 a.m. weight lifting option and MNAC fall conference meeting will be Sept. 11.

Discussion:
7-12 Principal Johnson's report included: beginning of year staff meeting and points of emphasis, Administrator Days in Kearney, projected 7-12 enrollment, senior parent meeting, first day of school assembly for 7-12, and sent beginning of year letter to paper for parents, students, and community members.
PK-6 Principal Isom reported on the following: back to school with three new elementary teachers, 1 new secondary teacher and 2 new paras, Wonders series and training, special education, testing with NSCAS, elementary schedule, ELL Conference and Administrator Days. |

Superintendent Redinger's report presented information on the following: NASB Area Membership Meeting is August 20, Administrator Days highlights with visit from the Governor, request for activity van for junior high, and FFA National Convention driver obtained if students attending.
