Discussion:
President Opela called the regular meeting of the Stapleton Public Schools Board of Education to order at 7:00 p.m. on March 15, 2021, in the library at Stapleton Public Schools.

Discussion:
Notice of the meeting was published in the Stapleton Enterprise on Thursday, March 11, 2021, and posted at five local business along with notice to the president of the board and all members prior to the meeting date.

Public Comment and Recognition of Visitors
Discussion:
President Opela asked if there was any public comment and referred to the guidelines in the agenda.
David Olson, chair of Nebraska Admirals Association, presented Mr. Howard Gaffney, Supt. with a certificate as Admiral of the Great Navy of the State of Nebraska from Governor Pete Ricketts. Gary Halstead, librarian, jr. high wrestling coach, asst. AD and golf coach presented to the board what is happening in the library, with golf and the conclusion of the wrestling season. He also discussed his employment over four years at Stapleton and his different positions. Mary Peters, Director of Special Education, and Deb Paulman, ESU #16 Administrator, addressed the board regarding the ESU #16 contract and explaining services our school utilizes. Polly Burnside, FCS teacher and speech coach, addressed the board regarding her programs, curriculum, and success in speech this year. |

Discussion:
Lacy Kinderknecht gave her Community Liaisons' report which included: 4th year of Foundation Gala was very successful with lots of thanks to everyone that helped make it a success, update housing for Stapleton, updating website and sending pictures and stories to the newspaper.

Activities Director Report
Discussion:
The Activities Director's report given by Jason Wehnes included the following: congratulations to the speech team for earning D1-5 District Runner-up, with seven students: Hannah Burnside, Trinity Hansen, Hope Gustason, Keali Florea, Megan Amos, Caleb Burnside, Jared Trimble, and Saige Johnson making it to State, congratulations to Dayton Gipe for being the first Sandhills Valley NSAA State Wrestling Runner-up, girls and basketball records, start of track and golf and new NSAA guidelines with Covid.

Principal Walker's report included: WCHD Covid dial, school improvement goals, ACT scores, graduation criteria for valedictorian/salutatorian, kindergarten round-up, March 22 teacher in-service, NSCAS assessment, PreACT, and NSCAS ACT.
