Discussion:
Supt. Shepard talked about State Aid, it will pick up again around September. Impact Aid will be coming in the fall. Larry asked about the playground process. Supt. Shepard stated that due to weather is being pushed back until Spring 2027.

Discussion:
Supt. Shepard received the specifications from Crouch Construction. We need the okay to proceed forward, to send out for bids. Dewayne Wabasha and Susan Pike, said yes to proceed.

Discussion:
Staff handbook was a part of the work session in July. Waylon asked if any staff has said anything about the calendar. Between Supt. and two Principals they haven't received any complaints. Waylon asked about staff cell phone usage. Principal LaPlante and Supt. Shepard stated that they have told staff on multiple days and pointed out that it is in the handbook page 27 and policy number 3044

Discussion:
Supt. Shepard talked about classified wages and how there was confusion. Board member Susan Pike thought it was for paras only. President LaPlante brought up that he thought there were going to be more expectations that came with the raise. Example: going to college @ NICC.

Discussion:
Nurse Chesley Chohon talked about what was approved last year was only student-wide and she has been going through it piece by piece to make sure it's school-wide not just student-wide.

VIII.J. UNL Roots Program
Discussion:
Roots Program: Neither principal has heard an update on it. Waylon believes they still need to go through the application process. There are people in the Roots Program who both work part-time for the tribe. Roots program is a program through UNL to help community members become teachers. They can work part-time. Tiffany explained she thought it was a process of becoming a teacher here. Greg said he also thought ti was more of a student teacher position for them to eventually become a teacher here. Waylon is asking why it was on the board agenda and if it was just to take pressure off admin. Hiring is an admin decison
