Description:
House Bill 3, passed during the 88" Legislature, requires that public school districts provide at least one armed security officer on each campus effective on September 1, 2023. La Vega ISD administration is requesting the Board of Trustees approve a Resolution to Declare A Good Cause Exception for House Bill 3 Armed Security Officer Requirement. See the attached Resolution. Chief Blakemore and the administration have developed and documented the Alternative Standard for La Vega ISD to with which to comply, in accordance with Sections 37.0814(d) and (e) of the Texas Education Code. See the attached Alternative Standard.
