Brady was selected as Outstanding Nebraska Middle School of the year. Sharon Axthelm and Trevor Mann went to the ceremony in Kearney to present on our JAG program and Ag Program. Sharon and Trevor were at the board meeting to present to the board.

Discussion:
Tina gave her report. Tina continues to mow and trim. Flowers and trees have been planted. A retaining wall was started on the football field. Tina thanked CJ and Cleland for their help. Total Kill was applied on May 29th by Mills Lawn. Jorgenson Lawn applied the 2nd application on June 10th. Heartland Sprinklers came on June 11th to fix the clogged sprinkler line.

Discussion:
Mrs. Foster gave the report for Dan. Dan attended the NSTA conference in Kearney and it was a very beneficial training to attend. Bus #4, Bus #25 and Bus #9 are all getting fixed. Bus #15 is still on auction until June 16th. On May 30th, all the fleet vehicles received hail damage. The plan is to wait until after storm season to put in an insurance claim. The end of year transportation report has been submitted to NDE. Dan inquired about renting the Quonset for summer bus storage. Two other fleet vehicles will be sheltered in the downtown shop area.

Discussion:
Mrs. Foster gave Ryan's report. The cooling tower and strainers on the roof top were cleaned and prepped for summer. Ryan helped set up the stage for graduation and awards. Special thanks to the high school boys for helping out. There was enough carpet left over from previous years, so not much was ordered this year to complete the vestibule, Mrs. Dyas room and 4th-6th grade rooms.

Discussion:
Mrs. Foster gave the report for Mr. Seamann. The district has changed to a newer calendar scheduling software. The printed calendar times will now display CT or MT behind the time of event. Mr. Seamann recognized the following individuals for the NSAA State Track Meet. Payton Stienike - 100m, 100m hurdles, 300m hurdles, Long Jump, Kenlee Fattig - Shot Put & Discus, Andrew Karchner - Discus and Tyler Roe - Shot Put. Also like to recognize our State medalist: Kenlee Fattig in the Shot Put & Payton Stienike in the 100m hurdles and 300m hurdles. A report was presented to the board to show the 2026-2027 coaching assignments.

8.5. Principal's Report
Discussion:
Mrs. Pavelka gave her report. Eight elementary teachers completed the science of reading training. Next year all the secondary teachers will be going through Science of Reading. A schedule of all the drills for next school year was shown. Mrs. Pavelka presented on the month of May for professional events and student events. There was a decrease of 21% in elementary student behaviors for May, but an increase of 6% for student behaviors in the high school. Mrs. Pavelka also showed the year of growth MAP testing by grade. Mrs. Pavelka talked about the American Civics Law and Multicultural Education Report.

8.6. Superintendent's Report
Discussion:
Mrs. Foster gave her report. Mrs. Foster has been continuing to work on many grants. One grant that was approved was the CTE Action Grant of $17,828 to provide a new industrial kitchen for the FCS room. Mrs. Foster is continuing to work with Syndicated Publishing to highlight school information for the newspaper. Mrs. Foster attended the School Law conference on June 11th. The district's estimated enrollment for the 26-27 school year is 171. A small kindergarten class this last year and a big senior class left, but there will be 16 new option enrollment students this year. Mrs. Foster and Darci Sanger are working on a project to move more of the memorabilia and awards to the new gym hallway so they are seen more by the public. Also, will be working on a memorabilia case by the old gym entrance door. Mrs. Foster also informed the board of her contract days this past year.

Discussion:
On June 9, 2026 Brady Middle School was recognized at the State of Nebraska CTE Conference. BPS was recognized as the Outstanding Middle School CTE Programming for the year! Following the awards ceremony, Superintendent Foster, Mrs. Axthelm (JAG teacher) and Mr. Mann (Ag teacher) presented on the CTE programming available for middle school students at Brady.

With the legislative session over, the biggest impact to schools include:
LB 596: Change provisions for the Open Meetings Act * This change allows the use of digital newspapers for the purpose of giving notice for the Open Meetings Act LB 653: Option Enrollment * All siblings will automatically be admitted regardless of capacity limitations LB 653: Student Discipline * Oral and written notice must be given for students who receive ISS or OSS * PK-2 students may be suspended if their actions warrant it. LB 745: GED * Previously students who are 16 or 17 could take the GED, but could not receive it until their 18th birthday (or after). LB 745 changes to requirements by removing the 18th birthday requirement. LB 803: Budget Hearings * Beginning June 1, 2027 we must notify the county assessor of the time an place of the first budget hearing. * All schools must have a designated representative and at least one board member at all Joint Public Hearings. LB 937 Section 3: Absenteeism * Schools report students who have 20 or more unexcused absences in a school year. Excused absences are not counted, but must also be documented by a credentialed health professional. LB 937 Section 5: Part-Time Enrollment * Homeschool students are required to to be enrolled in five credit hours per semester in order to be eligible for NSAA activities. * Homeschool students are required to participate in the minimum number of credit hours offered by a school district (5) while enrolled in a national organization (i.e. FFA). LB 940: Prohibits certain color additives in school meals * Beginning August 1, 2027 the following dyes are no longer permitted: Blue 1, Blue 2, Green 3, Yellow 5, Yellow 6, and Red 40 LB 966: Hunger Free Schools Program * If schools are selected, this would allow them to provide free breakfast OR lunch to all students. Currently receive all milk from Hiland Dairy. Recommended to stay in contract with them. This last year 1% white milk was $0.46 and chocolate milk is $0.47. Prices have gone up to 1% milk $0.51 and Chocolate Milk $0.55.

Brady Public Schools has not increased meal prices since the 2024 - 2025 school year: It is recommended by the state to increase them by 5.85%. The new prices will be PK-12 Breakfast $1.90, PK Lunch $1.90, K-6 Lunch $3.00, 7-12 Lunch $3.40, Seconds $1.60, Adult Breakfast $3.00, Adult Lunch $5.00 and extra Milk/Juice $0.60.

Discussion:
Coach Masters will soon have 9 passenger vans for sale that meet both state and federal requirements. The facilities committee has met with the administration and transportation department and recognize that an additional fleet vehicle is needed. They feel the district could get the most for our money by purchasing a 9 passenger van which can be used for route and for activities.
