Discussion: This is an open, public meeting of the Kearney Public Schools Board of Education, and a copy of the Open Meetings Act is posted in this room.

3.A. Future Construction Projects

Discussion:

Items of discussion included:
- KHS south addition - multipurpose room, girls wrestling room, classrooms, JROTC air rifle range, offices/storage etc.
- Central Elementary - secure entrance
- Sunrise Middle School - additional classrooms and parking
- KEC - parking lot

3.B. 2024-2025 Budget Discussion & Projection

Discussion:

Considered several options in preparation for future expenses.

3.C. Middle School Enrollment Issues

Discussion:

Projection of bigger classes coming in future years. There was discussion of consideration for facility and staffing needs.

3.D. Library Book Selection, Deselection, and Reconsideration Process

3.E. KCLC Summer Programming

Discussion:

The biggest hurdle is staffing. Many of the staff during the school year are UNK students who are not available during the summer.
