Discussion:  Mr. John Campbell led the Pledge of Allegiance.

Discussion:  Ms. Jamie Carr and Ms. Alisha Owens requested a reimbursement of $750.00 for towing the band's semi-truck after it recently broke down.

Discussion:  Mr. Eddie Pruett informed the board about American Education Week, from November 15 to 21. To show appreciation for their hard work, all employees will be treated to breakfast on Tuesday, November 18th.

Discussion:  Mr. Eddie Pruett presented the LEA Compliance report. GCSSD complies with all federal and state education laws, regulations, and State Board of Education rules.

Discussion:  Mr. Jack Ball reported that GCHS recently celebrated Veterans Day and noted that Mr. Joseph Dickerson is currently deployed. Mr. Stephen Powell, the Transportation Supervisor for GCSSD, has also recently been deployed. The Beta Club has been fundraising in preparation for their upcoming convention, and Lily McCaig will be running for State Beta Club President. Additionally, Mr. Pruett reported that the SGCHS Cross Country Team competed in the State Tournament meet, finishing 17th out of 24 teams, with Jonathan Lewis placing 6th overall.

Discussion:  Mr. Eddie Pruett announced that the Gibson County Special School District has established a partnership with the University of Tennessee at Martin to create enhanced opportunities for students interested in the fields of agriculture and education, known as the "Innovation Hub." This initiative allows students to earn college credits through traditional dual-enrollment courses offered by UTM, in addition to new experiential learning and credit-by-exam opportunities.

This program is designed to prepare students for future careers in teaching through the Teaching as a Profession (TAP) pathway, which effectively reduces the duration of their educational journey, enabling them to enter the teaching profession more promptly. Furthermore, it expands post-secondary credit opportunities in agriculture, enhances STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education, and promotes career exploration for elementary and middle school students. The initiative also provides internships for current UTM students, facilitating hands-on experience and equipping both students and educators to navigate the challenges posed by the increasing influence of artificial intelligence and the evolving economy.

Discussion:  Mr. Eddie Pruett reminded the board about the upcoming TSBA Annual Convention & Leadership Conference on November 13–16.
