Mr. Abraham, Mr. Gipson and Mrs. Penny recognized and awarded certificates to AP Scholars, AP Scholars with Honors and AP Scholars with Distinction. Mr. Gipson summarized the criteria for obtaining Advanced Placement levels.

6.A. Chairman's Report

Discussion:

State Award Opportunities: Student Achievement and School Volunteer
Superintendent Evaluation results: 2.999% out of 3.0%
Budget Work Session will be held to discuss information pertinent to next year's budget. Date to be determined.
Shout out to AHS Spring Sports: Baseball 21 and 5 and Softball 22 and 4, these teams were recognized in a Daily Memphis article.

6.B. Superintendent's Report

Discussion: Mr. Goforth provided the Superintendent's report:

Summer Camp (required by State) will be June 3-27 at Donelson Elementary with 160 signed up so far.

Mr. Hill:

Thanks to Dr. Ducey and the AHS Fine Arts Teachers, AHS has been named a Tennessee Arts Academy Arts Rich School of Merit. They are 1 out of only 10 schools in the state to receive this award. As a merit finalist, they are in the running for the TAA Arts Rich School of the Year award. Mr. Hill explained the intense application criteria and student focus video highlighting Fine Arts, as well as the required upcoming TAA on-site tour next week.
Legacy Grant Recipients and Application Process: Student activity funds tied to the Strategic Plan and Portrait of an ACS Graduate
- Caroline Harrison (AES): Created a House System for 4th Grade - Courage, Givers, Dreamers and Friendship
- Reese Gardner (AMS): Music in the Parks Fine Arts Competition in Branson, MO
- Mark McDonald (AHS): Model UN (Murfressboro) and Youth in Government (Nashville)
- Approximately $300,000 approved and granted to date.

6.D. Legislative Liaison

Discussion: Mr. Dunn reported the following:

Voucher Bill: Failed
Superintendent Mayo was vocal and led the charge against the Voucher Program.
Mrs. Williams and Mrs. Conley both refer to Rep. Scott Cepicky's (Maury County) stance on public education. It is very offensive to teachers and students who work very hard, as well as parents. And, it's disheartening that legislators continue to trash talk public education.
Mr. Benjamin urges parents, teachers and administrators to get involved and let their voice be heard.
