Discussion:

Clarification provided for the budget amendment request
Step Raise would be in addition to 2% that all employees received
Clarification on dollar amount that would affect the budgets (General, Federal, Nutrition)
204 of the 450 employees would be ineligible
Clarification of inequity with just Step Raises vs. 2%
Salaries are 71% of budget
ACS ranks #4 in the State for salaries and #2 in the State for bachelors degrees
ACS receives the lowest reimbursement per student in Shelby County
Cuts to the approved budget would be required in order to give Step Raises
Schedule does not have Step Raises after 18 years
Transferring funds internal vs. transferring funds external will require Town of Arlington (State approval required for employees paid through Grants). Both will impact General, Federal and Discretionary Funds.
Grant allocations made to schools will have to be reduced
Financial strategy to pull recurring cost out of a fund balance - not recommended
