1. CALL TO ORDER AND PURPOSE OF MEETING

1.A. The purpose of the meeting was to clarify COVID-19 safety protocols, review current numbers of COVID-19 in schools and take any necessary action.
Discussion:
Motion by Mrs. Beth Simpson to require everyone to wear masks in the school buildings. Motion seconded by Ms. Michelle Treece.
Discussion followed with Tom Hager making a motion to amend Mrs. Beth Simpson's motion to require masks for 3 weeks at which time Dr. Steve Barnett and Dr. Greg Wallace can determine if masking continues to be needed and to allow parents to opt their child out from wearing a mask. This motion was seconded by Ms. Beth Simpson. Discussion followed with Mrs. Kathy Hall making a motion to amend the amendment proposed by Mr. Tom Hager to change the date for reassessment of the need for masks from 3 weeks to September 7, 2021, the date of the next regular Board meeting. The mandate will continue or end on September 10, 2021. Mrs. Beth Simpson then amended her original motion to also provide that the school system's COVID protocols would be followed by all staff. This motion was seconded by Mrs. Kathy Hall.
