IV. 2026-2027 Budget
Discussion:
2026-2027 Budget. Dr. Garrett said she was going to ask Robert Daniel to figure a 5% raise for the classified positions. A 5% raise has already been figured into the draft budget to meet the state mandated salary for first year teachers for the 2026-2027 school year. The school system will be getting $800,000 more this year from TISA than was expected. We will ask to use debt service money for the new Central Office and a round of new computers.
It was discussed to possibly get metal detectors for the high schools that would be movable so the schools could use them at outdoor events as well as indoor. There was conversation on possibly doing hard bidding on the renovation for the new Central Office. The maintenance department is doing work on their section of the building and they should be moved in by May. The next work session will be March 19th at 4:30. This will be before the regular board meeting at 6:00. |
