I. Capital Projects
Discussion:
The Bedford County Board of Education met for a study session on August 1, 2024 at 5:30 pm in the Board of Education Central Office located at 500 Madison St., Shelbyville, TN. Board members Michael Cook, Brian Crews, David Brown, Dan Reed, Andrea Anderson, Barton Williams, Glenn Forsee and Lana Craig were present. Shanna Boyette attended virtually along with Tim Harwell. Dr. Tammy Garrett, Neil Watson, Chad Fletcher, Daniel Kleindienst and Kenny Parker were also present.
Chairman Michael Cook opened the meeting. There were presentations from Jill Cook, Community Engagement Director with Cooper Steel, Kenny Parker with BCS Transportation, Daniel Kleindienst with BCS Maintenance. Chad Fletcher was there to explain about ESSER 3 and the money that is left to be spent by September 30, 2024. The Board discussed capital projects that could be completed with ESSER 3.0 funds and general purpose funds. The Board discussed a revision of the 10-year plan and items that will be on the plan which will be sent to the Commission. The next study session will be August 8, 2024 at 5:30 in the boardroom at the Central Office. The meeting adjourned at approximately 8:30. |
