|

|
IV.B. TSBA Online Policy & Maintenance Service Agreement
Rationale:
This agreement is for the same online policy service and maintenance that TSBA has provided in past years. Since this is a multi-year agreement, it requires your recommendation to the Commission for their approval.
|
IV.C. Superintendent Goals Performance Evaluation Template
|
IV.D. Policy Recommendations
|
IV.D.1. Revision - Policy 6.503 - Homeless Students
Rationale:
This recommendation is for a rewrite to make the policy more comprehensive and comply with the Every Child Succeeds Act and new info from the U.S. Department of Education. The guidance provides more specific information about how the Every Child Succeeds Act will be enforced in regards to homeless students. One important aspect to note is the presumption that keeping a child in his/her school of origin is in the child's best interest.
|
IV.D.2. New - Policy 6.505 - Students in Foster Care
Rationale:
This is a new policy developed by TSBA in response to ESSA's amendment of the McKinney-Vento Education of Homeless Children and Youth Assistance Act. Previously, students in foster care were treated similarly to homeless students. After these new amendments however, there are separate processes governing the placement and transportation of students in foster care or students awaiting foster care placement. If this new policy is approved as presented, Policy 6.200 (Attendance) and Policy 6.203 (School Admissions) will be tweaked to reflect the addition. |
IV.D.3. Revision - Policy 6.409 - Child Abuse and Neglect
Rationale:
This policy recommendation is for a more comprehensive rewrite. The suggested revision contains specifics about reporting child abuse, rather than relying on the superintendent of schools to add all of the specifics in a procedure.
|
IV.D.4. Revision - Policy 2.805 - Purchasing
Rationale:
This revision is to update amounts to reflect current county financial management policy.
|
IV.D.5. Revision - Policy 2.06 - Bids & Quotations
Rationale:
This revision is also to update to current county financial management policy and TCA.
