Eric Meyer, Eric Schroeder, Erik Burns, and Toni Tauber all submitted letters of interest to be a school board member. Will ask them each four questions (all the same questions).
Four questions were listed below. 1. Eric Meyer - education important to family, help all kids, value bring stability, able to work with lots of people Eric Burns - owns business, school important to town, important to kids, good school, keep moving forward in positive direction, board looking at future Toni - has kids in system, chose to move back here, runs some businesses, no alter motives, give back to school that kids are in, Eric Sc. - kid in school/wife as para, unique viewpoint to board/area, budget stretch - creative, not complain be part of solutions 2. Eric Burns - open minded, easily available throughout day, listen to everybody's opinions, don't be judgemental Toni - depends what their concern is, misconception that board is in charge of everything in school, refer to chain of command, Eric Schroeder - listen to concerns, find out info people need or resource they need, follow chain of command, Eric Meyer - echo alot of others, small collective group representing district as concern, take concerns, thoughts, ideas to group 3. Toni - won't vote yes just because everyone else did, but can support the whole board decision, Eric Schroeder - vote independently, but have to follow the majority decision Eric Meyer - want whats best for pilot even if dont vote for something still want what is best for the group Eric Burns - has opinion but need to support majority 4. Eric Schroeder - manage taxpayer dollars, provide best education to every kid in school Eric Meyer - offer quality education for all students in what they pursue after school with out burdening tax payers Eric Burns - agree, prepare kids for life after high school, forward thinking board, ready for unexpected, good education Toni - provide oversight for the school through planning and policy, implementing policy Discussion? Discuss and Act on Transportation for 21-22 School year
Action(s):
No Action(s) have been added to this Agenda Item.
Discussion:
Transportation for 21-22 school year.
MidStates is out of Wayne - Holiday Express - Grand Island - and what we do, explained breakdown sheet If we buy bus and something happens we have the cost then, (engine 17000 or transmission 9000) still way below the other cost, May need transportation director - custodians may do again but may need to pay a little more, bus drivers - Rick, Thelma will have bus, Stan and Jim who knows. Robby drives quite a bit right now too. May need to start advertising for bus drivers now if we need, Need activity bus, mini bus needs level one not CDL. 56 passenger probably as big as we want to go because may get pretty big to take as a spare on routes. Track probably the biggest group to take. BB - brings the bus and van, Could we have Level one training here for people? Maybe do it during an inservice day? Dixie - Verdigre pays alot higher for activities than route so makes it more attractive to people. Combine bus superviser with license, Maybe add to AD and make a position, |

Discuss and Act on ESU 2021-2022 contract.
Action(s):
No Action(s) have been added to this Agenda Item.
Discussion:
compare contracts - 179,000 next year.
ESU uses these contracts to come up with their personnel for the next year. Little over 50% SPED reimbursement. If you end up needing more services you just have to pay for them. If don't use all of the hours then you don't have to pay for them except FTE ones. Matt - struggle with ESU 1, feels underserving our kids, Amy - can parent/kids be surveyed who use ESU 1 services to see if they feel like they are missing something in the service, Dixie - like to see parents surveyed who use the services that ESU offers. How can you survey parents of kids in confidential program Duane - is there a review process on the ESU services? Robby could talk to Bill/Stuart. If district isn't satisfied on servies what is the next step - DH, Robby can have someone else come in but hard to find people specialized in specific areas. Could case worker send letters to the families under them and then compile that info and turn it in. Matt - inviting as a school - very, butt heads with ESU over services, guesses some people are happy with services and maybe some are not. Dixie - can we give feedback to the ESU - Ryon/Robby - we get a pretty general survey, They go through evaluation etc just like we do. How do you hold ESU accountable - Matt, Is it Robby's job? If you complain to Dept of Ed they go back on school. Amy - thinks caseworker should know the most about the child, Greg - gathering if there is a problem it comes back on school who hires ESU but may not be anyone to come and fill that unit because there are not alot of people in that area. Does anyone know if one ESU is better than another? Is that what you are getting at, thinking, want to think? Greg - what happens in a month if we table it. Dixie - get together to the three people in SPED department visit with them about doing survey 3-5 targeted open ended questions. Greg - what area are we looking at? |
