Mr. Geise-Jr/Sr High Principal
FFA week was outstanding despite the weather, thanks to Mrs. Kennenback and our students. Sixth grade move-up day is scheduled for 4/29 (the activity fair will also be held on that day). The College/Career Fair brought speakers and over 30 booths from a variety of different fields to speak with our students, thanks to Mrs. Kreifels and Mr. Brokaw. Our students were amazing as always. Shout out to Coaches/Sponsors, participants, and Mrs. Stieren for a successful winter season. Mrs. Bergmeyer-Director of Curriculum, Instruction, & Assessment Adding Earth Science and Meteorology courses; students will start picking out classes with Mrs. Kriefels. Attended an ESU training with Mr. Dennis and Instructional Coaches to outline a plan for professional development and coaching sessions. The ELP assessments were completed and ASVAB results were delayed due to weather. Juniors will take the ACT on 3/25, while Sophomores will take the PreACT. The assessment team met to align with the state and the teachers are excited to have consistent and common data from year to year by using Fastbridge. Preschool will be offered additional time to come in, due to snow days. Mr. Dennis-Elementary Principal Kindergarten round up to occur on 4/24. Author visited on 3/7, hosted by Mrs. Zahn, with positive comments from both students and staff. Our whole school project was designed by our Involvement and Reading SIP teams and is funded by the PTO. This project allows for engaging activities to occur throughout the school themed around the sequel from last year called, "Squirrel in the House." The Willy Wonka elementary musical was on 3/6 and the students did such a fantastic job. Preparing the budget and for the annual CQI visit for Daycare on 3/31. Mrs. Stieren-Jr/Sr High Assistant Principal/Activities Director Boys had 2 State qualifiers (Cole and James K.), and girls had 7 State qualifiers (Morgan H., Allie Jo I., Jazy E., Alex P., Ava F., Kyler Z., to include State champion Maggie F). Boys basketball finished 9-14 and girls 4-19; Andy L., Grant T., and Grace R. for Honorable Mention. Dance and Cheer are both State champions and there are several State qualifiers through FFA! There were so many great competitors and fans. Big shout out to Ms. Harveson for hosting the Capitol Conference Honor Band, it was incredible to see the students come together and play. Conestoga to host District Speech on 3/17. First Soccer game on 3/20, Track meet on 3/21, State FFA convention on 4/2-4, and State FBLA on 4/10-12.
