Discussion:
Mr. Hahne explained that Dave Rittscher has resigned as TeamMates Coordinator effective February 20, 2026. Previously, the board had decided not to pay the co-coordinator. Now TeamMates will be back to one coordinator.

Principals' Report
Discussion:
In the absence of Mr. Black, Mrs. Novicki gave his report. Elementary students were awarded a movie watching day for their excellent results on winter assessments. Teachers have worked on universal design for learning. Mrs. Novicki reported that teachers attended a winter workshop January 19th. NAEP testing of 8th graders took place January 28th. She is working with Wes Prater planning a trip through World Classrooms to Washington DC during the summer of 2027 for 7th, 8th and 9th grade students. Young Americans gave a presentation at a student assembly about a workshop they will hold at Midland University this summer. Students have completed safety training with Mr. Black and ESU training of teachers continues. Interviews will be conducted soon for the para opening, parent teacher conferences are February 11 and football schedules for 26-27 will be out soon.

Superintendent's Report
Discussion:
Mr. Hahne explained about legislative updates regarding LB765, LB1038, the 3rd grade retention bill, sports and spaces bathroom use for transgender people, a possible change to the retirement system reducing the time off between retirement and coming back to sub. He also mentioned the school is now working with Ethan Planer for service to the HVAC system controls. He spoke about no school days for girls state wrestling and basketball tournaments. The board agreed not to take a day off for girls state wrestling and to hold school on Thursday, March 5th as we would compete March 4th and 6th at the state girls basketball tournament.

Cornerstone bank interest on accounts
Discussion:
Mr. Hahne informed the board that Cornerstone Bank has re-evaluated the interest rates they are currently paying, lowering the rates to 3.05% for the sports complex account and to 2.60% for all other accounts. The bank will re-evaluate rates again in June.

BOE filing deadlines: Feb. 17 for incumbents, March 2 for all others
Discussion:
Board members were reminded of the filing deadline of February 17th for incumbents. The deadline is March 2nd for new filers.

Sports complex update, (paperwork for USDA)
Discussion:
The sports complex is well underway, but has reached a snag with the USDA. The USDA still considers the property to be farmground which is subject to subsidies. Paperwork is being completed to get the designation changed.

NRCSA spring conference - March 18, 19, 20
Discussion:
Mr. Hahne asked again which board members plan to attend the NRCSA spring conference in March.

NRCSA Legislative forum
Discussion:
Mr. Hahne plans to attend the Legislative Form February 26th.
