Description:
Policy 103-Harassment and Discrimination Prohibited-Students
This policy, which relates to Title IX and discrimination, is recommended by the Sweet Stevens Title IX Pool Counsel, which we recently joined. The Sweet Stevens version, as opposed to the PSBA model policy which we currently have, is easier to read and understand for our school community and more clearly lays out the steps and timelines in the process of reviewing complaints than the PSBA version.

Description:
Policy 249-Bully and Cyberbullying
This is a model policy from Sweet Stevens that incorporates changes required by Act 20. This draft policy addresses the new requirements to include cyberbullying and an investigation. The policy addresses bullying and cyberbullying, whether conveyed verbally or in writing, including off campus cyberbullying when it has the effect of substantially interfering with a student’s education, creating a threatening environment, or substantially disrupting the orderly operation of the school.

Added/Updated entire policy with current School Code provisions for contract, pre-employment requirements, performance assessment and removal/severance. Added language regarding the documentation of procedures used to fill vacancies with an acting Superintendent - protects the district from any potential legal liability. Added employment history review language and reporting of arrests and convictions language in compliance with current School Code provisions. Added language regarding removal and severance as a recommendation.
