Mr. Nick Brost's Principal's Report: Congratulations to our Students of the Month: Dusty Nation, Kanoa Levias, Monroe Duncan, Briahnna Einspahr, Emily Mulhollen, Jordyn Babst. Congratulations to Madisen Adams, Adams Bank & Trust Student of the year. Congratulations to our Spring NCPA Academic All-State: Boys Track Jacob Lofton, Tyler Spiehs Girls Track: Jordyn Babst, Ella Stanley; Golf: Chloe Jacobs, Sophia Lanman; Music: Emalee Armstrong, Chloe Jacobs. South Platte received 3rd place in MAC Sportsmanship Voting for Spring Activities. Audrey Moorhead was selected to a two-year term with the NSAA Student Advisory Committee. Audrey Moorhead will be representing South Platte at this year’s HOBY Youth Leadership Seminar. Drake Arensdorf, Brayden Kendall and Ryker Olson wrestled at Midwest Classic Nationals in Kearney; Drake placed 7th, Brayden 8th. Nebraska Junior Duck Stamp Winners: (over 520 entries from Nebraska); Laila Marshall - 7-9 grade 1st place; Rusty Schaben - 7-9 grade; Honorable Mention: Dustine Fox - 10-12 grade 3rd place; 10-12 grade; Honorable Mention: Jack Van Horn, Brayden Kendall, Tatum Worley, Ryker Olson, Ava McHenry, Deacon Hayward, Audrey Johnson. Twelve seniors and 7 juniors are registered to take one or more college/dual credit classes for next year. Thank you to Mrs. Jacobs and her music students for their wonderful music programs. District Music Contest Results: Superior Ratings: Women's Ensemble: Chloe's Solo, Epiphany Perez's Solo, Audrey Johnson's Solo; Excellent Ratings: Emily Mullhollen's Solo, Audrey Moorhead's Solo, Emalee Armstrong's Trombone Solo and Show Choir and Band. Student Learning Trips included the Zoology Class trip to Denver Zoo and HS Art to the Petrified Wood Gallery. A Special Thank you to Denise Moorhead for organizing and facilitating the HS and JH Awards for their awards nights. Congratulations to all of our award recipients. Congratulations to our 12 seniors who earned their High School Diplomas. We hosted a free sports physical day with Kyle Brown and Natalie Mayer. Congratulations to the HS Track team for a tremendous performance at Districts. There were 19 PRs and Jayla Paulsen qualified for state in High Jump and 800m (new school record). Christian Scherbarth set the JH school record in shot put at the Best of the West JH track meet in Scottsbluff. The HS Golf team completed their season. Members saw lots of improvement during the season. Upcoming Dates: May 22-23 - State Track at Omaha; May 30 - MAC vs MNAC All-Star Basketball hosted by South Platte.

Discussion:
Mr. David Spencer's Superintendent's Report included an update on the most recent elementary learning trips and Fun Day. The final ESU 16 Cohort Groups will meet May 28th. Graduation was May 9 and the annual egg drop was on the last day of school. On May 11, he attended the Disney Institute workshop: A Heart for Service in Education, which was fully sponsored by Horace Mann. He gave a brief update on option enrollment students. State Track is next weekend. The Gym is Closed June 8–24 for the floor refinishing project. The NHS Blood Drive is June 25. The school meal price increases were discussed.
