Principal's Report
Discussion:
Mrs White gave the elementary board report. End of year testing — MAPs data shows significant growth. The elementary school "dot" falls in the upper right quadrant for "High Growth" and "High Achievement" in all three content areas. Field Day was successful. The students had fun, the weather was nice and there were many compliments.from people in attendance. 4th Grade Coffee Bar — Mrs. Murray had a coffee bar set up to showcase the work of the students published, "The Best Part of Me." Family and staff members across the district were able to read student work and enjoy coffee and pastries. May 19th is the Kindergarten/Senior Walk and G-Awards. May 21st is Kindergarten graduation.
Mr. Massey gave the Middle School Board Report. We are in the process of wrapping up our end-of-year MAPS testing. Teacher Appreciation Week was awesome. The PTO provided a week of food, fun and excitement for everyone. Everyone appreciated the district providing Dillas on Friday. Our GMS robotics team will be competing at Region 7 on Wednesday, May 13. GMS will have four teams / 17 students competing in the event. 8th Grade Social Studies will be hosting a living museum on Tuesday, May 12th. G-Awards will be on May 19th and 8th Grade graduation will be on May 21st. Mr. Autrey gave the high school board report. Exams will take place May 19th–21. Suhani Kumar has qualified for the National Competition in Washington DC. The contest will be held July 6-10. We have had a few banquets: Athletics, Band, FFA, Academic and Scholarship. Academic awards for underclassmen were held on May 18 at 9:00am. May 19th Senior Walk, May 20 Senior Sunset, and May 22nd Graduation. |
