IX. OPEN SESSION
1. Consideration and possible approval of a resolution donating the Business office at 1103 Baltimore to Central Plains 2. Consideration and possible approval to sell the business office building at 1103 Baltimore
Discussion:
The Board discussed the potential donation of the property to Central Plains Center for the purpose of providing services and resources specifically for veterans. Under the proposed terms, the property would be restricted to veteran-related use and could not be resold. Administration noted that the District currently incurs expenses associated with the property, including electrical service, insurance, and ongoing maintenance, totaling approximately $100,000 annually. The Board was also reminded that the District has previously attempted to sell the property. Approximately four to five years ago, the District received limited interest, with bids of approximately $9,000 and $2,500. The property was again offered for bid in 2023 and 2024. Two members of the Board who are employed by Central Plains Center disclosed their relationship with the organization and would recuse themselves from participation in the matter as appropriate. Following discussion, the Board agreed to table the item at this time. |
