Recognition of Outstanding Achievement: Report: Cheerleaders- Kylie Van Pelt Texas A & M Agrilife Extension- Shawnte Clawson
Discussion:
Presented their success at cheer camp. They presented and introduced all 3 squads. Freshmen, JV and Varsity. Varisty mascot won dance off contest and won on 1st place trophy in spirit.
Shawnte Clawson came and thanked us for allowing us to let them use our facility. They were able to give out 34 car seats to community. Presented data for what car seat safety can benefit younger children. Thanked for working with Plainview Intermediate for allowing the parents and students to be apart of their research to help with health and eating. |

IV.6. 2024-2025 Campus Improvement Plans

Each department presented their goal and strategies.
Goal #1&2 presented by Daniel Fitzgerald: Discussion over percentages per grade level. Percentage comes from what we did last year and compared to the state. Goal #3 "District Initiative" presented by Doris Chapa: Enrollment, Absences and attendance. Chief Delagarza also presented students who have registered but have not shown up to school what tactics the district is using to help out. PISD Police have conducted 80 home visits. They are also tracking repeaters from last year to make sure to help these students not to fall behind or to finish school. We have had a lot of success. Some are pending due to address changes. Some students have put in an application, however they did not complete. The students who have not completed the process but are still showing active in the system are getting home visits. Example of reasons why students have not showed up: address changes, residential changes, car issues, have moved but have not requested records etc. Is there a timeline to un-enroll a student if they are not showing up? The timeline is 10 days. District is only held accountable for students who are enrolled. District tries to figure out if the student has gone to another district, home school, or moved to another country. Goal #4 " Staff Quality" presented by Brandy Merrick: responding to staff perceptions of the district. District is conducting district surveys. District is also looking for federal funding for specialize services. Goal #5 " School Climate/Safe & Healthy Schools presented by Jeff Delagarza: Facilitate safe and healthy schools by providing for the emotional, social, physical, academic, and linguistic needs of students to educate and support the whole child. Would like to update the backstage and dressing room for Theater at PHS. This was not part of the renovation of the auditorium. District would like to use Title 5 funding for the theater area. Title 5 is an Urban improvement grant. Discussion over strategy 2 consultant coming in to train staff for the bullying, code of conduct, how to use the stop it app. Consultants will go to campus to work with staff. District does have a teacher support system where principal is able to call in and ask for crisis help with teachers. Goal #6 "College and Career/Graduation/Dropout Reduction" Daniel Fitzgerald presented: Increase the percentage of students who achieve both completer status and earn an industry-based certification in their aligned program of study from Goal #7 "Communication" Dani Heranndez Presented. Increase communication and positivity within school district. Showcasing events, staff and students. Goal #8 "Family and Community Engagement" Dr. HT Sanchez presented: To offer education opportunities for school and community stakeholder. Goal #9 "Technology" Ensure technology resources are used with fidelity, maintain integrity in their utilization, including adherence to cybersecruity protocols and safe guarding sensitive data and systems. North Elementary Goals Discussion: Will be holding campus staff surveys. Central Elementary Goals Discussion South Elementary Goals Intermediate Goals Junior High Goals Survey for students. PHS Goals Short on English teachers. Mr. Reagan gave praise to Freshmen class stating they are strong class. Thanks PJHS for their contribute in getting them ready. Ash Program Plainview Collegiate 4 years ago the collegiate school started. The very first class will graduate this year. They started with 80 students and now are down to 58. Of the 58 half have left or moved from the district. |
