Recognition of Outstanding Achievement: Presentations/Training: Required School Safety Training for School District Trustees-Julio De La Garza House Bill 690, passed by the 87th Texas Legislature, Regular Session, 2021, added Texas Education Code, §11.159(b-1), requiring the State Board of Education (SBOE) to coordinate with the Texas School Safety Center to develop training on school safety for school board trustees. In November 2021, the SBOE adopted the new school safety training. The training was first made available on TEA Learn in February 2022. |
