1. Tax Rates by Property Type
Description:
Please see attached a breakdown of the different tax rates by property type. Randy asked for it to help answer some community questions/comments. It took Mary a week of emailing Springsted and Morrison County. |
2. Payment for Mary's Non-Contract Time
Description:
Mary has been very busy with the financial end of the building project. In fact, she said if it wasn't for us having Michelle Hauber she probably would have quit - losing her mind. Even with Michelle as our district office secretary Mary is very busy with the project and cannot take off many days of work. Also, Kelsie will be on maternity leave May - July. I suggested to her we pay out some of her non-contract days to keep her working in the office. She agreed and attached a proposal. Please let me know if you have any concerns with us paying Mary 8 more days of work in FY16. These are not free days. She'd be getting paid her daily rate for working 8 more days because of the building project. |
3. Discounted of Attorney Fees
Description:
Kevin called me this week to tell me about the final attorney bill for the wrestling investigation. He surprised me when he said he decided to write off $10,000. I appreciate his good will as clients of his firm. |
4. Average Class Size of Area Schools
Description:
Jon Kringen is the superintendent at LPGE. His board wanted to know class sizes in other area schools. Please see attached how each of us compare to each other. Overall our numbers look good! |
5. Superintendent Evaluation
Description:
I spent most of today reviewing the district goals and reflecting on our progress in each one. I wrote in red evidence of the decisions/actions we've taken over the past few years - it's a lot. I was given the impression we were in a rush to complete my evaluation. With Liz being gone in March we have more time than anticipated. I'd like to take the additional time to combine the red progress notes from the district goals with the "district leader evidence" in my blue evaluation form. I will have this in next week's Friday letter. The additional time also allows me to meet with each board member to review and discuss the new superintendent eval model. Please let me know a day and time in the next few weeks when you're available to meet with me for about an hour. I want to help each board member understand the eval tool. After we get through this year the future years will go much easier and faster. |
