1. Restructuring Community Education Director and Activities Director Positions
Description:
I will be adding a discussion item to the board agenda Monday night. Greg Borders will be resigning with an effective date August 15, 2015. Now is the time to restructure the Activities Director and Community Education Director positions. We have either moved backward or been stagnate in all four areas of community education: MAP, preschool, youth sports/activities, and adult/community classes. We need to reshuffle the positions to move ALL four areas of community education forward. Yesterday afternoon, Michelle started gathering information for us from other area schools with similar student enrollments. I've asked her to collect job descriptions and contracts for Activities Directors and Community Education Directors. You'll find attached a few of those we received already. I suspected we were getting a good deal on our two positions, but I really didn't realize how much less we pay than other similar sized schools in the area. I'll have more thoughts to share at the board meeting. |
2. DX Cooling in New Additions and 6 Existing High School Classrooms
Description:
The original plan was to have a chiller or DX rooftop units for air conditioning in all new additions and the 6 existing high school classrooms at the north wing. Last month a bombshell was dropped on us from Hallberg Engineering that neither are a possibility within the budget. To make a long story short Winkelman now has enough design information to comfortably say "yes" DX cooling is within affordability. This is one of too many items to mention that keeps me awake at night. :-) Everything is going okay and on budget . . . so far. |
3. Minutes of Pre-Construction Coordination of Elementary Gym
Description:
Please see attached minutes from the pre-construction coordination meeting for the elementary gym. |
4. Approval of Weekly Building Project Quotes and Proposals
Description:
Please see attached a proposal from Centra Sota for a new 2,000 gallon double-walled fuel tank. We had two proposals submitted to the district. Centra Sota was less expensive by about $1,500. Also, we currently do business with them. Please see attached two bids for each of the transportation and custodial/student activities sheds. The two local businesses will each be awarded one of the two sheds. They were very close to each others bid amounts. |
5. Approval of Weekly Bills
Description:
Please see attached the weekly bills for your approval. |
