1. Recommendation to Hire Shari Bishop for Gifted, Talented and Enrichment Coach
Description:
The two principals and I interviewed Shari Bishop for the gifted, talented and enrichment coach position. Please find attached the agreement I put together for her. She will have a stand alone agreement like the Technology Coordinator, HR/Payroll, Business Manager, etc. The Agreement will be in the March board packet for board approval. |

2. Teacher Compensation Time or Payment
Description:
Mr. Kunkel turned in 37 "Teacher Salary Vouchers" for reimbursement. Normally, we wouldn't question any employee who submits these forms for payment. The difference is he is asking to be reimbursed for years dating back to 1988. I needed to visit with the school attorney about a personnel item so I ran this by him too. As I thought, there is a 2 year statute of limitation. Should we only pay the slips dating back 2 years or the full 26 years? There are other teachers in a similar boat (see attached document). The concern I have is a grievance by REM if we do not pay our teachers. The bigger concern is .... really??? Please let me know your thoughts on if it's worth a grievance or not. Either way we're getting the word out the school district will not pay "Teacher Salary Vouchers" beyond 2 years. Any future vouchers expiring at the end of the second year will automatically be paid to the employee. |
