4. Discuss options for math materials adoption beginning in the 2025-2026 school year.
Rationale:
Board Policy 6004 defines the distinction between curriculum and materials as follows:
The purpose of today’s discussion is to provide an overview of the process used to develop the recommendation and to gather feedback and questions from the Committee on American Civics. If the recommendation is approved, the review window will open today. Materials will be available for viewing by contacting Mrs. Angie Richeson prior to the April Board meeting.
Discussion:
Mrs. Angie Richeson, Mrs. Josie Floyd, Mrs. Tomye McKenna, Mrs. Cindy Moore, Mrs. Maria Anderson, Mrs. Mary Meisinger, Mrs. Ellie Anderjaska, and Mrs. Regan Schwanz presented their evaluation process for math materials. The committee is recommending the adoption of "enVision K-12".
The Board of Education is responsible for adopting curriculum (standards). Per district policy, because the purchase threshold would be met, the selected materials are available for public review. Community members who would like to review the materials before the April board meeting can contact Mrs. Angie Richeson, Director of Teaching & Learning at angie.richeson@goswedes.org or call the district office. |
