Public Comment Sign In Procedure - Anyone wishing to address the Board of Education must submit a written request form, found on the public’s table, prior to Public Comments.

The Board reserves the right to move into closed session to protect the public interest or needless injury to the representation of an individual for any action item listed on the agenda. The Board may, at its discretion, change the order of the agenda to accommodate unforeseen issues related to an agenda item.

Rationale:  Mr. Kent Trelford-Thompson representing Blue Cross Blue Shield will be at the meeting to discuss with the Board the current contract negotiations with CHI and BCBS.

Rationale:  The Ralston High School Team will present to the Board and public.

AdvancED 1.2 - The system ensures that each school engages in a systematic, inclusive and comprehensive process to review, revise, and communicate a school purpose for student success.  Board Policy KB, Public Information Program

Rationale:  Ms. Staci Raddish, school psychologist for the District will present and discuss a program that has been developed this year for parents.  The Positive Parenting Education Series will be conducted monthly and will be free to parents of the Ralston Public Schools.



AdvancED Standard 4.8 – The system provides, coordinates and evaluates the effectiveness of services       that support the counseling, assessment, referral, educational, and career planning needs of all students. Board Policy KAB, Parental/Guardian Involvement in Education Practices

Rationale:  Dr. Gibbs will report on the NeSA and ACT academic performance results for the Ralston Public Schools.



AdvancED Standard 5.1 – The system establishes and maintains a clearly defined and comprehensive student assessment system.  Board Policy ILC, Use and Dissemination of Test Results

Rationale:  Mr. Buckingham will discuss a draft replacement plan for vehicles and equipment for the Ralston Public Schools.




AdvancED Standard 4.4 The system demonstrates strategic resource  management that includes           long-range planning in support of the purpose and direction of the system.  Board Policy FDA, Bond Campaigns

Rationale:  Dr. Adler and Mrs. Richards will briefly outline information with the Board of Education about the potential use of the NASB Community Engagement Process to support our Character Development Strategic Plan.  This item will be added to a future Board of Education agenda for further discussion.
