1. Call to Order
Discussion:
Chairperson Roach called the Committee on American Civics to order 6:46 PM

2. Determination of Legality of the Committee Meeting and Roll Call
Discussion:
Chairperson Roach acknowledged that the notice of the committee meeting was given in advance by publication appearing in the May 28, 2026 edition of the Doniphan Herald in accordance with the Board-approved method for giving notice of meetings and as required by the Nebraska Revised Statute 79-724. Notice of this meeting was given in advance to all members of the Board of Education. The availability of the agenda was communicated in the publicized notice and a current copy of the Agenda was maintained as stated in the publicized notice. All proceedings of the Board of Education, except as may be hereinafter noted, were taken while the convened meeting is open to the attendance of the public as indicated by the Open Meetings Act on the West wall of the board room.

Discussion:
No members of the public asked to speak before the board.

4.1. Review the Requirements of the Committee
Discussion:
Dr. Braden reviewed the committee's requirements under state code.

4.2. Review of the current D-T Social Studies Curriculum
Discussion:
Mr. Mogilefsky and Ms. Goracke provided updates on curriculum resource adoption aligned to the requirements of the Committee on American Civics.

Chairperson Roach adjourned the committee at 6:54 PM.
