President Lutkemeier opened the Meeting at 7:00 pm. The meeting notice was advertised in the July 2nd publication of the Webster County Sun. "The Open Meetings Act" poster was displayed in the meeting room.

Discussion:
NextPath will give us a catch all for student concerns, MTSS protocols and suggestions and help us aide our student population more efficiently and effectively.

7.2. Discuss, Take Action as the board deems appropriate regarding the purchase of property in Roseland adjacent to the high school.

Discussion:
The property owned by Scott Timm is going to be sold. There are pictures of the house attached. The property is directly south of the greenhouse and south parking lot in Roseland.
He is asking appraised value of $143,000 for the property. After review of the property I believe this to be fair value and that they will be able to get this amount if not more should they put it on the market. There is potential for getting a para potentially hired and placed in the house for the upcoming school year. It could use some updates and would require a refrigerator. Fairly new Heating unit and Air Conditioner. |

7.6. NRCSA Membership Renewal $850

Discussion:
We receive yearly renewal notices for statewide associations. Our Nebraska Rural Community Schools Association Membership Dues are $850 (Same price since 21-22). NRCSA provides a great deal of services for our district. Last year NRCSA had 222 member schools representing over 88,000 students across 90 counties and 24 legislative districts throughout Nebraska.

8.1. Transportation Report
Discussion:
The Board approved for Mr.Bauer to sell the older handicap-accessible van and look into replacement options for a newer van. The Board also authorized Mr. Bauer to obtain bids for updating and purchasing newer buses.

8.2. Additional 7% property tax request authority - pink post card meeting
Discussion:
It was discussed to advertise and access the additional 7% tax request authority and go through the pink postcard meeting or if we going to try to keep the status quo if possible.

9. Future Agenda Items
Discussion:
The next regular Board of Education Meeting will be August 11th - 7:30 p.m. Bladen (Meal will start at 7 p.m. with 7% tax increase vote during meeting, meeting and budget workshop to follow)
Future dates: September 16th - 8 p.m. Roseland October 14th 7 a.m. Bladen November 12th 7 p.m. Roseland December 10th 7 p.m. Bladen ADDITIONAL POTENTIAL DATES September 17th is pink postcard meeting date at HPS September 16th will be our budget and tax request hearings during the monthly BOE meeting if we do not need pink post card meeting. September 23rd will be budget and tax request hearings and meeting to approve budget and tax request if we need pink post card meeting. I will plan to prepare 2 budgets for you. One with all in - 7% and pink post card meeting to maximize our situation. One to avoid pink post card meeting if at all possible feasible (too early to tell). Again, we can adjust if we need to - this is merely us trying to meet the legislatures requirements. |
